In our ice cream sundae slime article I mentioned that the girls have unofficially declared this the summer of slime. After creating their own fluffy slime ice cream “sundaes” we decided to test out our own strawberry lemonade inspired slime play. The kids had so much fun with their own lemonade stand pretend play after we made our fluffy strawberry lemonade scented slime recipe.

How to Make Fluffy Slime
Below are the basic steps we follow to make our fluffy slime. We made two separate batches of slime, but they all follow the same series of steps. The indivdiual fluffy recipe for each of the lemonade and strawberry slimes we made are below. You can choose whether to combine the two (the colors will mix) or play with them separately.
If you’re just getting started making slime and would like a bit of support, you’ll definitely want to grab a copy of the Ultimate Slime Guide. It’s full of tips to avoid slime fails, step by step directions, and creative ideas for slime recipes and mix-ins.
For each slime we started with shaving cream in a mixing bowl.
Then we added our scents (Jell-o for this recipe) and food coloring and mixed those in.
Next we added our glue and stirred again.
We then added baking soda and stirred yet again.
Finally we added our activator. For this recipe we used saline solution, and stirred again until the slime started to come together.
Then it was time for the kids’ favorite part…digging their hands in! Before doing so we like to add a bit of saline solution to the palms and backs of their hands to keep the slime from sticking.
After kneading the slime let it set for a few minutes. Then you’ll have some fantastic scented fluffy slimes to play with!
Note that these are not edible, and you will need to inform children of this as well as supervise small children closely.

Making slime is just the beginning of the fun. Afterward grab a few items to set up your own pretend lemonade stand…slime style! We used open cups, tongs, and mini lemons strawberry for the kids to make some slime lemonade. They especially liked pretending to pour the lemonade from cup to cup as they watched the slime ooze out.
