Sadly as July starts winding down so does summer in our area. Slowly we’re switching our sights to back to school, but we’re not quite ready to call it quits on our summer fun! Our summer of slime recipes continues with this new scented pineapple slime recipe. It smells AMAZING!

If you’re just getting started making slime and would like a bit of support, you’ll definitely want to grab a copy of the Ultimate Slime Guide. It’s full of tips to avoid slime fails, step by step directions, and creative ideas for slime recipes and mix-ins.

Ingredients for Pineapple Slime

  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 Tbsp Pineapple Jell-o Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Clear Elmer’s Glue
  • Yellow Food Coloring (optional)
  • Gold Glitter (optional, but fun!)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 Liquid Starch (add in increments)

Step 1-How to Make Pineapple Slime

We started by adding the water and Jell-o to a bowl. Stir to dissolve slightly.

Then stir in 1/2 cup of clear glue.

Mixing Pineapple Slime Recipe

Adding the Jell-o does give you a subtle yellow color, but we wanted to make our color a bit more vibrant so we added a few drops of yellow food coloring.

And of course glitter makes everything a bit more fun, so we poured in quite a bit of gold glitter!

How to Make Scented Pineapple Slime-Kneading

Now it’s time to add the activator so you can turn your concoction into slime! We chose to use liquid starch for this recipe, because we always get great results with it. We started by adding 1/2 cup of liquid starch, but the slime didn’t quite come together like we wanted so we slowly added extra spoonfuls of liquid starch until we got the consistency we were looking for. In all we used 3/4 of a cup of liquid starch.

Finish up your slime by kneading it…well! Kids love digging their hands in and working with the slime to watch it magically transform in consistency, so let them go for it.

Pouring Slime

Note that this slime is not edible, and you will need to inform children of this as well as supervise small children closely.

We also found that the scent of our slime intensified over the next 24 hours as the Jell-o fully dissolves into the mixture, so if your slime doesn’t smell like an island dream right away, hang tight!
