Our goal is to make it easier for you to prepare hands-on learning activities and fun things to do with your kids at home and in the classroom.
Thank you so much for visiting Fantastic Fun and Learning. Whether you are a parent, a teacher, a nanny, a grandparent or any other kind of child caregiver, you’re sure to find a wealth of resources here to make your time with kids more fun and full of learning opportunities.
We love exploring early childhood themes and using them for interdisciplinary learning. We enjoy getting our hands messy with play dough, small worlds, art activities and sensory play. We also use a lot of hands-on,engaging printables to support early learning. Although you’ll find activities that can be modified for kids of all ages, most of our content is directed to early childhood with an emphasis on ages 2-7.
Take a few minutes to watch videos for some of our most popular activities. (Click the playlist folder button with the arrow on it toward the bottom right if you’d like to quickly select which video you want to watch from the playlist.)
My Story
My name is Shaunna. I have a Masters degree in early childhood education, and I enjoyed teaching kindergarten and first grade for seven years.
I have two darling and spunky girls. Lovey is seven and full of energy and enthusiasm for learning about the world around her. Tinker is five, and we call her Tinker because she is most happy when she is taking apart and putting things together. Even as a toddler she knew how to operate and easily dismantle most toys and small gadgets in our home, which kept us on our toes!
After my girls were born, I began to feel the tug on my heart to be at home. I struggled with finding balance between being the kind of teacher and the kind of mother I wanted to be. In 2012 I decided to combine my love of being a mom and my love of teaching, and I became a work at home mom. Two wonderful little boys joined us during the week for home preschool. We kept very busy learning and finding fun in the little moments of our busy days. Those years teaching home preschool were some of my favorite years ever, and they were the inspiration for creating this site.
Why blog?
One of the most rewarding parts of teaching was collaborating with others to learn and share new ideas. And now as a mommy I often find myself exchanging tips and tricks with other parents. This site is my way to continue to actively learn from and share with others. I hope this site will be a valuable and informative resource for you.
