Winter is a great time to learn about polar animals. This week for Discover and Explore, we’d love to create a collection of great activities, resources, and tips for helping kids learn about the animals of the Arctic and Antarctica. Share your great ideas, and see what others are doing to discover and explore polar animal activities with kids.

We haven’t shared too many of our polar animal activities so far, but I do have a couple from the archives.
In December while reading some nonfiction books about reindeer, we compared our height to the height of reindeer antlers. Then we made a toilet roll reindeer craft and played a feed the reindeer counting game that my preschoolers loved. But you may want to switch out your little reindeer nose if you’re going for factual instruction. 😉
We’re slowly sharing some of the penguin activities we’ve been enjoying this month. So far I’ve shared our penguin sensory play and easy penguin snack.

Hi Shaunna!
Love your site! Just discovered your link-up as well. I don’t have any Arctic animal activities to share but I’d definitely like to link up to other themes in the future!
