Recycled Crafts for Kids

My daughter is now referring to our recycling bin as “the other craft box.” She also says it’s “the place where we put stuff that we might be done with, but maybe not just yet.” I love it!

Given her love of crafting from the recycling bin, my features from the Discover and Explore Earth Day linky are all made in part with recycled materials. I hope they inspire you to look at your trash a little more creatively and encourage your kids to do the same.

Thanks for including me! I love the idea of keeping recyclables all together as craft materials (instead of strewn all over the house like ours are…)

So glad to include your great project! And if I’m being honest I still have my own personal stash of recyclables that is set aside for special projects… 😉

It cracks me up, too! The other day I was putting something (not a recyclable item) into the trash can. She quickly grabbed it, and said, “I think I could use this for a project. It needs to go in the other bin (pointing to the recycling bin). I suppose we may need to discuss the real purpose of the recycling bin at some point, but I think it’s very sweet for now.
