Kid Art Inspired by a hint of color

Art can be inspired by so many things. If you and your kids take a look around your home or classroom, I bet you could find all sorts of inspiration. Recently the unique design of new Sparkle ® Towels with a hint of color inspired us to get painting, and we’re excited to share this simple activity with you as part of a sponsored post on behalf of Sparkle ®.

Have you ever noticed how a hint of color can make a difference in our homes and mood? Whether it’s a hint of color in a new necklace that adds to your outfit, a pop of color that brightens a room, or a touch of color that makes you smile, color can definitely have an impact.

When we opened our product box from Sparkle ®, I was immediately reminded of that impact. Tinker exclaimed, “Ooh, those are pretty, mommy! They’re blue!” It was obvious that she was excited!

And with just one color in the design the towels are subtle enough to add just the right amount of color to our kitchen…and our art!

We spent some time admiring the design of the towels. The girls talked about what it reminded them of. Lovey thought it looked like snails. Tinker thought it looked like cars zooming around in circles, and the color reminded her of  her Daddy since it’s his favorite. I  love that it’s simple and fun.

Materials for Art Activity #hintofcolor #SparkleTowels ADWe decided we’d use the inspiration to make our own hint of color art creations. First we gathered some cotton swabs, paper, and light blue paint. I set the towels next to the girls, and we spent some time experimenting with how to make a similar design. Sparkle ® definitely does a better job than us, but we had fun trying a few different approaches. This is one of the final creations we made. Lovey decided she’s going to use it as wallpaper to decorate one of the playhouses she’s been working so hard on lately during her free time.

Thank you, Rachael! I’m hoping one day Lovey will be ready to share her creation. She’s being VERY meticulous about the design and she won’t show ANYBODY except me the works in progress. So far it’s adorable though, and so fun to watch her delve into such a big ongoing task.
