Fall is almost here, and if you live somewhere besides the far south, leaves are changing all around you. Our kids love the fall season and we love using the changing leaves to make a fun fall activity for them. To build on this classic fall staple, we put together a simple quick prep set of counting puzzles using leaves to embrace the fall season. With these leaf counting puzzles, your little ones can practice number recognition, counting sets, and one-to-one correspondence. Also, be sure to check out our Apple Seed Counting Puzzles for even more fall counting practice!

These quick-prep leaf counting puzzles are perfect for:
- Math center options
- Small group activities
- Take home games
- Options for fast finishers
All you have to do to prepare these is print, cut, and laminate them if you desire.
Next, set out the puzzles for your kids. You can keep it simple by having them match the puzzles. Or, you can add manipulatives to extend the activity.
We like to use leaf mini erasers, play dough, pom poms, or even real leaves!
Once your kids have matched the puzzles, they can add the chosen manipulative to work on one-to-one correspondence and creating sets.
