Since first learning how to make Katrina’s ham and cheese roll-ups and our pizza roll-ups, Lovey has been eager to try more and more recipes on her own. I love the sense of independence and self-confidence she is gaining through the experience. Her latest quick recipe is a simple turkey and cheese roll-up recipe.

Turkey Roll-Up Recipe Kids Can Make~Great for lunches and after school snacks

With only three ingredients this recipes is perfect for kids to make for an after school snack or easy dinner option. It would also make a good sandwich alternative for school lunches. Lovey is excited to make some for her own lunches when school starts.
Spread the Dough

By now Lovey (age 6) is very comfortable turning the oven on to 425, lining the pan with aluminum foil, and spraying it with cooking spray. Sometimes she still needs help opening the pizza dough, but she can easily spread it out into the pan before I place the pan in the oven for 5 minutes.

Add the Cheese

After I remove the pan from the oven and move the foil and dough off the baking sheet to cool slightly, Lovey layers on the ingredients. For this variations she added provolone cheese and turkey slices.

Add the turkey

Then she rolled it up. We placed the roll-up and foil back on the baking sheet and put it back in the oven for 15-20 minutes until it was brown on top.

Roll It Up

I removed the pan from the oven. Then after it cooled we cut it and served it with a simple salad for an easy summer lunch.
