Doreen Cronin has mastered bringing characters to life on the pages of her books. In fact, she does it so well that readers are given first hand insight into their very deep, adventurous, and often hilarious thoughts. Cronin’s books are a favorite among many children, including my own. We love to laugh at the farm animals’ ingenuity in her “Click Clack…” books, and discuss our own day to day perspectives based on her “Diary of a…” books.
What’s really great about Doreen Cronin’s books is their segueway into applying multiple literacy skills. Many of the texts can be extended to highlight point of view, cause and effect, inferencing, and friendly letter writing to name a few. Here are some fun resources and activities to accompany some all time favorite books by Doreen Cronin.
