Need a quick and fun craft project? Try one of these unique coffee filter crafts for kids.
I’d be hard pressed to get through a year without making some sort of coffee filter craft with kids. Why? So many reasons!
First coffee filters are inexpensive and can be found easily. This makes them a prime candidate for adding to my craft stash.
The texture of coffee filters also make them a neat canvas for experimenting with absorption, allowing us to add a bit of science into our art time.
They are also incredibly versatile. Kids love trying different paints, markers, and dyes and seeing how they turn out when added to coffee filters.
So now that you understand my love of coffee filter crafts, let’s dive into these creative ideas so you can try a new coffee filter craft soon.

QUICK NOTE ABOUT CRAFTING WITH KIDS
In my opinion crafting does have a place in early childhood. However, it’s important to remember that many of the craft examples we see online are made by adults. When you try them with kids, be sure to follow the child’s lead. This is where crafting and creativity merge.
Some kids will want to make something that looks very much like the example. Great!
Others won’t. And that’s perfectly acceptable too! Give them the freedom to add different details and change the project up to meet their own vision. They’ll be more proud of their work if it’s their own, and you’ll avoid unnecessary power struggles that can often come about when adults try to “help” kids make their craft just so.
