Make Homemade Gifts-Advent Day 21

For today I originally planned to make and deliver small homemade gifts to friends and family, and we sort of did that. The kids had so much fun with our holiday playdough that  I knew their friends would also enjoy some of their own. I found these small individual plastic containers at Walmart, and I thought they would be perfect for these gift sets. Each child on our list got three containers: one red peppermint, one gingerbread, and one green mint. Lovey helped me put the playdough in the containers and added star stickers.

The adults on our list will get a cookie tray full of all of the goodies that Mimi and Lovey have been busy making this week. Instead of delivering everything today, we will be dropping off gifts here and there as we see friends and family over the next few days. I think Lovey will really enjoy giving the gifts to everyone.

DIY Christmas Gift for Kids

When I planned our advent activities, I hadn’t thought of visiting a local Christmas Tree farm. Then I remembered a great one that Lovey’s old preschool used to visit. This afternoon we are taking a field trip to see the trees that are left. Lovey also remembers a giant haystack to play in, and I am sure we will take a hay ride. Today we read Christmas Tree Farm and reviewed The Pine Tree Parable to talk a little bit more about Christmas tree farms. Next year I plan to do a little more with this visit and include some follow-up activities to go along with Christmas Tree Farm.

Did you make any homemade gifts this year?
