Our roll and color math games series has been so popular that we’re adding even more sets to it in the coming months. Our newest set is perfect for summer learning, a fish theme, or an ocean unit in preschool or kindergarten. In each set kids get the opportunity to practice various preschool through first grade math skills in a fun hands-on way.

These fish theme roll and color math games are so much fun for kids! Great for practicing number sense, counting, shapes, number words and more in preschool and kindergarten

Once kids learn to recognize numbers and count out sets we can begin to introduce additional number sense concepts. You can begin by discussing more and less and helping kids physically create sets to demonstrate these concepts. Once they are able to do that in a concrete way you can move on to more abstract thinking. This free printable excerpt from the full summer fish math games set can be used to practice identifying numbers that are one less than the number kids roll on their game cube.

These math games sets can be use in a few ways depending on your preferences. If you’d like to use the set over and over again you can use manipulatives like small pom poms, glass beads (shown), or mini erasers to cover the correct numbers as you play. You could also use sheet protectors and dry erase markers.

In this free printable set you get a game board and game cube to practice identifying the numbers one less than 5 through 10. These skills are most appropriate for preschool and kindergarten students. If you’d like to practice other skills or need more options for differentiating instruction then the full 28 page game set may be best for your needs.
