Oral health is a big part of our family’s daily routine. Even with our busy schedules, we make sure that we dedicate time to keep our teeth in tip top shape. Fortunately, we have found some amazing products that help us do just that! We recently partnered with DenTek® and took their 30 Day Family Floss Challenge and had so much fun tracking our progress and building healthy habits at the same time. The cool prizes you can enter to win were an added bonus!

Get the whole family brushing and flossing together with a 30 Day Challenge

To kick off our family challenge, we headed to our local Walmart where we knew we could find exactly what we were looking for at their every day low price. Their signs and labeled prices are assurance that you’re getting the very best price when shopping.

As soon as we reached the floss aisle, everything was quick and easy to find. We stocked up on some DenTek® Kids Fun Flossers for the girls and some DenTek® Triple Clean Floss Picks for Mom and Dad.

About The Challenge

DenTek® is challenging families to build healthy flossing habits by each family tracking their daily flossing for 30 consecutive days. To ensure success with our 30 day flossing challenge, we downloaded and printed the free progress calendar. Once it was printed, we taped it to our bathroom mirror to serve as a daily reminder to floss our pearly whites! I set out a pen for each family member to initial as each daily flossing session was complete.

In addition to the visual calendar, we also had a buddy system in place. The girls were responsible for following up with one another, and Mom and Dad would check in with each other too.

As we first set out using our new DenTek® Kids Fun Flossers and DenTek® Triple Clean Floss Picks, I made sure to model proper use of the flossers. As I used the scrubbing floss to help remove food and plaque, the girls found it entertaining to watch Mommy hold her mouth open for so long! It’s important to closely monitor the use of the flossers with young children, therefore we made it a routine to floss with Mom or Dad.

The ergonomic design of the flossing picks helped make our 30 day flossing challenge quite successful. The small flosser head for kids fits perfectly into tiny mouths and the easy-to-grip handle fits just right in their little hands. The girls absolutely loved how colorful and tasty the wild fruit flavored DenTek® Kids Fun Flossers were. I know this mom appreciates how they are coated in fluoride!

For added fun and learning while we flossed, we would count how many spaces between our teeth that we flossed and make comparisons between who had more or less spaces to floss.

Our oldest loved how hands-on the challenge was as she got to write her initial on the tracking calendar each time she flossed.

Mom and Dad got to get in on the fun too, and we loved how minty fresh our mouths felt after using the DenTek® Triple Clean Floss Picks. The picks were versatile in providing three different ways to clean your teeth- a fluoride flosser, a textured pick, and even a tongue cleaner to help fight bad breath!

It’s never too early or too late to start building healthy habits. This 30 day challenge certainly helped establish healthy dental care habits for our family and brought us together to have fun while flossing! Now that we’ve completed our 30 day flossing challenge, I am already finding that these new flossing habits are here to stay. It makes me so happy to hear the girls ask for their flossing picks. And they are quick to ask Mommy and Daddy if we’ve flossed recently too!
