Glitter! I love shiny, sparkly crafts, and so do my girls. When I learned of the opportunity to create something fun and sparkly for a sponsored post as part of the Tulip Holiday Sparkle and Shine series I knew we could create some great DIY holiday crafts to enjoy all season long.
The girls usually have a special holiday shirt to wear to events and activities during the holidays. With the wide assortment of Tulip glitter & sparkle products, I knew we could make some of our own very easily. I didn’t quite realize this glitter Christmas tree shirt was going to be so easy and fun though. Once we had our plan and materials, it only took us about ten minutes to create, and Lovey was able to help with the whole process.
To create our Christmas tree shirts we used a plain shirt (pre-washed without fabric softener), a piece of cardboard to place inside the shirt, painter’s tape, Tulip Fashion Glitter, and Tulip Fashion Glitter Bond. If you are new to creating with any of these materials, you might enjoy the tutorials and tips found on the product pages. I personally loved being able to read and watch a few videos about each of the products.
After placing the cardboard inside of our shirt, I used painter’s tape to create Christmas tree design.
Then Lovey used the applicator sponge to apply the Tulip Fashion Glitter Bond.
Next Lovey had a shake party! She poured a thick coat of green Tulip Fashion Glitter where she had applied the bond. After a few moments we poured the excess glitter from the shirt onto a piece of paper and added it back into the bottle, so we can create even more holiday creations.
We applied more bond to the bottom tree trunk and added gold glitter. After shaking the extra gold glitter off we waited a few minutes. Then we gently peeled the tape back.
The excitement from Lovey as we slowly unveiled her creation was like the joy of opening a new present for the first time. She was so thrilled to see what she made! Isn’t it gorgeous?
This process was so easy that we were inspired to create another shirt that we’ll be sharing tomorrow. And with all of the extra glitter left in our bottles we have plenty to create more DIY wardrobe or decorations to enjoy this holiday seasons. Who knows what we’ll create next?

I see that you say these should be washed inside out. Wondering about how many washes before it started to look less awesome? I just need it to last for December 🙂
Shaunna Evans
Haha! I know what you mean! I would recommend a thick layer of glue and a thick layer of glitter. Ours did last through December, and we wore them a few times to parades, family events, and school activities. I think we even wore them again as play shirts (looking a little less awesome) the second year after making them.

Its so cute! can it be washed?
Shaunna Evans
Yes, they can be turned inside out and washed. Ours have handled their first washes well. There are some tips and such on the package and the website to look over, too.
