I remember the night very clearly. I was staring blankly at my computer after a very long and very trying day. It had been one of those days full of giving reminders, back talk and meltdowns. It seemed that as soon as one challenge was overcome, we were facing the next one. The girls were finally in bed, and I was left exhausted, sad, overwhelmed, and disappointed in myself and them. And above all, I kept thinking, “Where did I go wrong? Where did these behaviors come from? How do we fix this?“
