Our relaxed summer schedule means we have more time to spend trying new recipes and cooking together in the kitchen. With all the fresh fruit available now it’s the perfect time of year to try some new smoothie and popsicle recipes. After making a batch of delicious strawberry lemonade last week the girls wanted to try making some popsicles. This easy strawberry lemonade popsicle recipes is great for little hands to help make, and they are so yummy.

With kids in the kitchen it is very helpful to keep them busy with age appropriate tasks. Otherwise they will find their own tasks…and you may not always like what they come up with. 🙂

My girls love to use the citrus juicer, so they took turn juicing lemons while I gathered the other ingredients.  They were having so much fun that I went ahead and cut up the strawberries.

Next the girls added the sugar to some warm water and stirred to dissolve it.

Then they added the strawberries, lemon juice and sugar water to the blender. We poured the mixture into popsicle molds and waited–impatiently as kids do.

Luckily it was well worth the wait! These popsicles are the perfect mixture of sweet and sour. We took ours outside to enjoy after running in the sprinklers on a very hot summer day.
