It’s no secret that we have a sweet tooth around here. And although we eat healthy most of the time, we do enjoy our fair share of desserts around here. Everything in moderation, right? This easy dessert recipe takes about 5 minutes to prep if you’ve already got brownies made, and the combination of bananas and chocolate is just delicious! The simple steps make this a terrific recipe to make with kids in the kitchen.

Banana Brownie Trifle-Easy Dessert Recipe

Start with your favorite brownies. Make them from scratch, bake from a box, or buy some pre-made brownies at the store–nobody’s judging! We prefer to make our desserts in individual serving dishes. This way the girls each get to help make their own.

First we crumbled the some brownie bits into the bottom of our bowls. Then we added a layer of banana slices. We think these banana brownie trifles taste best when the bananas are new, firm, and cold from being in the fridge.

Then we added Cool Whip. After repeating those same three layers again, we drizzled caramel sauce on the top. Add just enough for your preferred level of sweetness.

Then serve immediately. Although we most often eat our desserts on the porch as a family after dinner, this recipe is pretty and tasty enough to serve when you have company over too.
