Whether your kids are thrilled to be going back to school or are dreading giving up the lazy days of summer, this back to school tradition will have everyone ready for the big day. Gather a couple of friends (or just limit this special time to family) and mark the end of summer and the beginning of school together. Depending on your child and your preferences, plan a back to school sleepover or at-home back to school spa day.

Sleepover Activities
Summer can be rough on hair, skin and those cute little toes, so try some simple beauty routines to get kids clean and ready for school. Just be sure to inform other kids’ parents of your plans in case they are opposed to any of the activities you choose.
After all those hours in the pool hair can be left dry and full of signs of chlorine. Use a swimming shampoo like Ultra Swim Chlorine Removal Shampoo and Conditioner to get hair school ready. Let hair dry while your focus on hands and feet next.
All that tree climbing and running barefoot leaves hands and feet a mess, try simple manicures and pedicures. Clean those fingernails and toenails. Soak those toes in a foot spa. Then don’t forget to moisturize with a great cream. We like O’Keefe’s Working Hands and Healthy Feet Combo. File and buff those nails to make them shiny.
Spend some time playing with new hairstyles for school. Let kids create their own, or try a few you find on Pinterest. We tried some of the styles in this collection of easy hairstyles and these lazy hairstyles for girls. Can you tell keeping it simple is a priority for us on school mornings?
Make a back to school craft kids can take with them. Chat with your child to see what would be the most fun. Some ideas might be making friendship bracelets, backpack charms, or locker decorations. Keep it simple!
Finally have everyone bring one or two of their back to school outfits and have a First Day of School fashion show to finish up the event.
Then send everyone home ready to tackle the first day of school!
