Sipping a cup of warm Bigelow Tea on the back patio is one of my favorite ways to sneak in a few quiet moments of relaxation. It’s also one of my mother’s favorite ways to rejuvenate. For Mother’s Day the girls and I made this easy, but super cute Tea Flower Garden Gift Set.

One afternoon while Lovey was at gymnastics, Tinker and I popped over to our local Walmart Supercenter. There we were able to quickly grab all the materials we needed for our gift set. Family-owned Bigelow Tea is great quality, and my mom loves their different varieties.

I Love Lemon and Lemon Lift are her varieties, but she also loves to sample different teas from time to time. We bought two boxes of the Assorted Teas, so that she could have a lot to choose from and our flowers would be different colors. While we were at Walmart we also bought a stem of silk flowers, double-sided tape, a flower pot, soil, and a small lemon balm herb plant.

At home Lovey helped by first sorting the tea bags by color.

Sorting tea by color

Each tea bag is enclosed in a foil pouch for freshness. The pouches also made it easy for us to create our “flowers” without damaging the tea bags inside. To make each flower we arranged five tea bags into a flower shape. Then we used double-sided tape to secure the overlapping corners.

Once our flowers were assembled, Lovey pulled the blossoms off of the flower bouquet. When selecting your flowers, you’ll want to choose some that have broad leaves and strong stems that will be able to hold up the weight of the tea flowers.

There were six flowers in our bunch, all connected to one main stem.  Since we only needed three stems, I twisted two stems together for each of our flowers. this made them a bit more sturdy.

To assemble the flowers we pushed the leaves up toward the top of the stem to keep the tea flowers from sliding down. Then we placed the tea flower on top. Finally we added the original flower on to the end of the stem.

We bent the stem just a bit so that the flowers faced forward instead of upward.

Then Lovey and Tinker helped me transfer the lemon balm plant into the flower pot. We chose lemon balm because it has a fresh but subtle lemon scent. It reminded us of the many herb and plants used to create the Bigelow Tea we are sharing with my mother.

We left a small section in the middle of the pot where we could insert the large base stem for our tea flowers. That’s it! Easy peasy, and the whole project only took us about ten minutes.

Best of all, it’s a practical and beautiful gift that I know my mother is going to enjoy!

Once the tea flowers are removed they can be used to make a soothing glass of tea. And the lemon balm plant will make a great low maintenance plant to enjoy as she sips her tea outside.

That’s a creative and fun way to present Bigelow Tea to a tea lover! I really like how you used a white pot, cup, and flowers allowing the colorful designs of the tea pouches to really shine. #client
