Jelly Bean Science Experiment

Simple science experiments are a meaningful way to get kids into the habit of thinking like scientists. That’s exactly what Tinker did in this jelly bean science experiment during our Easter theme activities!

Materials

  • Jelly Beans
  • Small Containers
  • Various Liquids We used warm water, water with salt, milk, orange juice, and vinegar.

Instructions

  • Sort the jelly beans by color.
  • Place four jelly beans in each small container.
  • Measure liquids to pour into the container.
  • Set a timer and check the jelly beans at 15 minutes, 1 hour, and 24 hours.
  • The next day remove two jelly beans from each container.
  • Place them next to a jelly bean that had not been in any liquid and compare them!
