We’ve been having so much fun outdoors this spring. I loved seeing all of the fun plant activities in last week’s Discover & Explore linky. There were a lot I wanted to try here at home with the girls, and these five are ones we’re adding to our spring bucket list.
Fun Plant Activities We’re Trying This Spring
The girls love collecting little bits of nature as we are out on our walks. We’ve used fall items to create before, but I love the nature art made by Joys of the Journey using items they found during the spring. It will be fun to compare our fall and spring art work.
There’s something about dandelions and childhood that go hand in hand. My girls love finding dandelions and playing with them. I just love all the dandelion activities Sunny Day Today Mama shared, especially these adorable dandelion wishes key chains.
While we’re out collecting materials for our nature art and dandelion activities, I also want to gather some flowers to try this flower pounding art activity from Buggy and Buddy. My kids will love the combination of active play and art work!
We’ve got a nice little garden started, but we’ve never tried to grow potatoes. I was excited to see that Rubber Boots and Elf Shoes is sharing how they are growing potatoes in preschool. We’re going to give it a try, too!
I’ve seen a few examples of regrowing vegetables from scraps, but we’ve only tried with carrot tops and green onions. What Do We Do All Day created a whole science experiment with regrowing vegetables in a window greenhouse. I had no idea you could regrow so many vegetables, and I can’t wait to try it out.
These posts and other highlights have been pinned to the Discover and Explore Pinterest Board.

Some wonderful activities – I love the dandelion keychain, and I keep trying to regrow some veggies – we have an avocado seed in our classroom window right now. Thanks for including our potatoes in your highlights. They have sprouted, and we think we might have to hill them next week.
