Today we’re back with another math activity using chocolate kisses. This one is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers learning to count by color. And like all of the activities in the Chocolate Kisses series we’re providing a free printable.

ABOUT VALENTINE’S DAY AND HEARTS.
Once again we’re using the Valentine chocolate kisses wrapped in red, silver, and pink foil. To set up the activity place a small amount of kisses in a container beside the printable sorting sheet. If you’d rather not print the printable, you can also use small containers, cupcake liners, or pieces of foam.
Tinker automatically started sorting the kisses by color. Then we counted the amount of kisses in each circle.
As she did this activity we practiced skills like:
- color recognition
- matching and sorting by color
- counting
- one-to-one correspondence
- comparing (the amounts in the different circles)
