Blotto art projects fascinate kids. Each one is unique, and opening up the new design each time is always a fun surprise. Recently as we were thinking of a fun snowflake art project to try we decided to make some snowflake blotto winter art.

We started by putting white tempera paint in a squeeze bottle to help regulate the amount of paint that would flow onto the paper and give the kids a little more control.
The girls recently learned that snowflakes have six sides or points, so we tried to make our snowflakes have six sides. We do so by trying different ways of drawing three lines. Here we made one long line down the center and two short lines on one side with some lines connecting them.
In the one below Lovey started at a center point on the paper and extended three lines on one side of the paper before adding additional detail.
After folding the paper in half we had fun seeing how our snowflake designs turned out. Each one is unique just like a real snowflake.
And because we love glitter, we embellished our designs with a bit of silver glitter glue to make them sparkly.
Once you are done you can hang your snowflakes as they are, cut them out and hang them from the ceiling, or cut them out and add them to a winter landscape art project.
