Shape Play Dough Mats

We can make shape activities very playful and hands-on for preschoolers and kindergarteners. Once kids are able to recognize basic shapes we can help them learn to construct the shapes with a variety of materials. As they build shapes they become even more aware of the characteristics that define each shape such as as the number of sides and vertices. Additional activities to extend learning:

• Have kids find items around the classroom that correspond with each shape.
