If you read my favorite children’s museums post, you already know that my family and I enjoy visiting museums together. They are especially great to visit on rainy days or when we want to have fun while getting away from the summer heat.

Today I’m sharing a lot of kid-tested, mommy approved museums shared during our recent Discover & Explore link up. Pin this post and check it out the next time you’re planning a family trip!

Fun Museums for Kids

Children’s Creativity Museum-San Francisco (Buggy and Buddy)

San Antonio Museum of Art (There’s Magic Out There)

San Antonio Children’s Museum (There’s Magic Out There)

Top Indiana Children’s Museums (Nothing if Not Intentional)

Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and Awesome “Glass” Sculpture Craft (Life with Moore Babies)

Philadelphia Museum of Art (Look What Mom Found)

Museums of Connecticut and Massachusetts (Little Bins for Little Hands)

Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney (Raising Explorers)-Even if you won’t be visiting Australia soon, stop by and see how this museum visit was inspired by a picture book. Awesome idea!

If you plan on visiting a lot of museums, check out the Nothing if Not Intentional’s post about the benefits of the ASTC passport program.

That’s a great idea. I agree that children should be taught about the art from the early years. I would love to visit such museums myself! :-)))

I like fun museums. One of my favorites when I was growing up was the Farmer’s Museum in Cooperstown, NY. I wish we lived close to some of these museums you listed.

I agree Chelsey. I especially love seeing the kids interact with something that I may not have thought of introducing them to yet. I always leave with so many new ideas for learning and play.
