As we’re teaching young kids about Veterans Day they often have many questions. As they learn more about family members and friends who have served in the military, they are likely to ask questions about the different branches of the military. I made these easy prep free printable Veterans Day military branches puzzles, and I pull them out for a quick activity when kids start asking questions about the different aspects of the U.S. Military during our Veterans Day activities.

This quick video shows the puzzles in use, and how we add a self-checking element to the puzzles to make it easier for kids to see if they matched the puzzles correctly.
I recommend printing the puzzles on cardstock and laminating so they can be used over and over again.
If kids aren’t very familiar with the branches of the military, you might start by introducing just two of the five puzzles. Then slowly add in the additonal puzzles as kids become more familiar with each branch.
I also like to make the puzzles self-checking by adding a sticker or drawing the same color dot on the pieces that go together for each puzzle.
The free printable set includes five puzzles with four pieces each. One shows the name of the military branch. Two show different attire related to the branch, and the other piece shos transportation vehicles and tools used by the branch.

Do you happen to have pentagon puzzle for the Space Force?
Shaunna Evans
No, I’m sorry. I don’t have clip art for that. Let me see if I can reach out to the artist.
