Do you ever start a craft project with an idea in mind and then it evolves into something very different? That’s how these quick and easy fireworks rings came about. I was getting materials ready for another project, and Lovey said, “Yay! We’re making sparkly rings?!?” How could I say no?

We took a break from the project I had planned spent some time adding a little glam to our day. As it turns out they make adorable jewelry to wear to fireworks displays or parties on New Year’s Eve, the Fourth of July, and other patriotic holidays.

To make our fireworks rings we used red and silver tinsel stems. For each ring we used three whole stems. We cut them in half to make 6 pieces of equal length.

To make one ring, gather five of the stems and fold them in half. Leave enough of a circle to fit the child finger. You may need to shape it into a circle a bit. Then wrap the sixth stem around a couple of times to secure the ring.  Be sure the ends lay flat so they don’t poke the child’s finger.

Turn the ring so the loose ends face up and bend them slightly into the shape of a burst of fireworks. Leave the stems raised enough so they aren’t poking into the child’s hand.

Repeat and make fireworks rings in all of your favorite colors.

Am I a bad parent because my first thought was – this is so awesome and the second one was – wow, I can put these on her fingers so she doesn’t touch stuff when I cook ๐Ÿ˜€

These are great! I can also see them being creepy crawly spider rings on Halloween with some black pipe cleaners
