If you follow this blog you probably already know that we love theme-based learning. We base our home preschool activities on the kids’ current interests. Some of our favorite themes from last year were about rocks and seeds. While I enjoy gathering all of the resources and ideas for each unit, it can definitely be a daunting task. There are SO many great ideas to choose from!
When I saw these amazing collections shared in the Discover & Explore Space Exploration theme, I knew I just had to feature them. Ladies, they’ve collected so many fun and educational ideas! I think they’ve put together an entire astronomy unit for us. Whether you’re planning a full unit about outer space or simply looking for a fun idea to try with your little astronaut, I think you’ll find something here.
Things that Go-In Space! by The Good Long Road includes book resources, Montessori-based ideas, crafts, sensory play, learning activities and more.
This Astronomy Unit by Every Star is Different has individual posts about Stars, Sun & Moon, and Planets. Each individual post is FULL of learning activities and resources. I’ve included just a couple of the fun ideas below.
Counting Asteroids
Adding with Moons & Asteroids
