I am by no means a musician or a singer, but music is a part of our daily activities. Aside from being a lot of fun, music also has many benefits for children.
This week for Discover & Explore we’d love for you to share your favorite activities, resources, field trips, and other ideas that relate to kids’ music and instruments.
In our music section on Fantastic Fun and Learning we have quite a few holiday related songs and song book resources for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Today I thought I’d share a couple of the more general music activities we’ve shared about so far.
We had a lot of fun painting to music during our C is for Corn theme.
Jingle bell streamers are great for indoor and outdoor music and dancing.
Egg carton bells are fun to make and they can be use for all sorts of music activities and games.
Collect some rocks and make your own “rock” band for some easy DIY instrument fun.
Drums are always popular around here. These super easy DIY drums can be made with household items.

This is awesome! I love arts and crafts but I never tried making musical instruments. Glad I found this! Will definitely show this to my kids and they will surely love it too. 🙂

Love this linky! Our driveway is gravel, so I’m totally excited about the “rock band” idea. We’ll be doing that soon!
