There are many ways to encourage creativity in kids. Did you know that telling jokes is one of them? As kids develop a sense of humor it’s not only fun to explore telling jokes together, it can also help them use their imaginations, see things from different perspectives, and even increase their self-esteem.
We’ve been having fun with jokes this summer by reading joke books, making up our own jokes, and sharing lunchbox notes. If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you know we have fun from time-to-time playing with our food. It’s a fun and simple way to encourage imaginative play during snack times. Today we’re partnering with Horizon to share some printable lunchbox notes inspired by the pretend play stories and jokes the girls have been telling while enjoying Horizon snacks this summer.
These lunchbox notes are fun for anytime of year. Use them for summer camp days, school lunches, family picnics and more. Whether you’re going to camp, the pool, amusement parks, or the beach, the tasty line of Horizon snacks makes snacking on the go easy and fun. We took a break from the hot summer sun to enjoy some Horizon snacks and share some laughs together. These free printable jokes are just right for beginning readers, so my oldest enjoyed playing comedian while the rest of us laughed at the silly cow jokes.
As she was enjoying the yummy Horizon Chocolate Snack Grahams Lovey joined in to act out her own joke creations using the cow grahams. Have you ever sat with a 4-year-old making up her own jokes?! Hysterical! These are the kind of silly and happy family memories we’ll cherish for years to come!
